My siblings and I were named as defendants in a lawsuit following the death of our father, and Justin of Baxter & Baxter was able to get us dismissed from the case. We appreciated the firm’s ability to achieve a favorable outcome for us as well as the kindness they showed us during a difficult time. I’m happy to recommend the firm to anyone who can benefit from the services they provide.

I highly recommend Baxter and Baxter by Wendy on December 13, 2011

I highly recommend Baxter and Baxter and will be forever thankful for their services, they completely changed my life. I suffered for over 6 years attempting to get a collection account removed from my credit report that did not belong to me. I had completed a fraud report and literally had over a 1000 documents which included my letters to the collection agencies, the credit bureau reporting agencies and Attorney General’s offices explaining that the account was not mine. The collection account would be removed and then all of the sudden reappear on my credit file. I finally had it when I was denied a car loan because of this bogus collection account showing up on my credit file once again. I contacted Baxter and Baxter and they took my case. Both Michael and Justin were very professional, honest and really went out of their way to settle my case. We eventually resolved the case in three separate confidential settlements and best of all they restored my A+ credit. Thank you Michael and Justin Baxter!

I initially went to a different attorney by JC on August 24, 2011
5 out of 5 stars

I initially went to a different attorney and was told I’d never qualify for a Ch. 7 bankruptcy. We had a situation where our house was radically under water and mounting bills, failed loan modifications, etc. Lyndon guided us through everything. Most importantly, he was masterful in our discharge hearing. His style clearly put the trustee at ease (we sat through several others, and they were BRUTAL), and we sailed through. He is a straight talker and totally knows his stuff. Highly, highly recommended.

The entire staff at Baxter & Baxter works in one cohesive unit to provide excellent service and maintain a sense of calming relief for their customers. I highly recommend them to anyone I know.

Lyndon Runke was a huge help to me by Rhiannon on Jan 21, 2012
5 out of 5 stars

Lyndon Runke was a huge help to me recently when I had to make the difficult decision wether to file for bankruptcy or not. He explained the process to me in detail and took away much of the fear I had surrounding the “stigma” of this action. After struggling for years with a mounting debt due to circumstances out of my control, I finally decided that I needed a clean start. After searching the web I found Baxter and Baxter and read some of these reviews and felt that I had found someone that could help. Thank you Lyndon for always taking the time to answer my questions, big or small! And your staff rocks too! Your paralegal Sherria is knowledgeable, thorough and kind as well.

Justin Baxter of Baxter and Baxter handled my case in a professional and respectful manner. He made sure that I understood my rights, how the case would be handled, the probable outcome, and risks associated with filing a suit. While I hope that I never need his services again, I would not hesitate to call upon him and his firm if the need arose. I would highly suggest the firm of Baxter and Baxter to anyone.

Michael Baxter of Baxter & Baxter represented me in my personal injury case. I was very pleased with the outcome of my case and the settlement we got. This law firm mostly handles consumer cases, and they handle bankruptcy cases, too. Hopefully I’ll never need a bankruptcy attorney, but if I do, I’ll know who to call! Very happy to recommend Baxter & Baxter.

‎Lara Gardner went above and beyond to help me by bryce on Jan 1, 2012

‎Lara Gardner went above and beyond to help me through what was one of the most difficult times of my life. Unfortunately I’ve had cause to deal with many attorneys over the last year. Lara was the only one that I felt truly had my best interests in mind and showed compassion toward my situation. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

Bankruptcy was embarrassing. by SydD on Sep 12, 2011
5 out of 5 stars

‎Bankruptcy was embarrassing. I went to Baxter and Baxter in Vancouver because I owed so much medical bills I didn’t know where to go and couldn’t pay them. Lara was so nice to me and made me feel better about all of it. She told me how it would go and I felt like a weight got lifted in about 20 minutes of meeting her. She always talked me to me when I called and never acted snootty or anything. Her price was not too high either. If everyone had Lara as their bankruptcy attorney no one would feel guilty or bad after having to do it. Thank you so much for all your help.

We HIGHLY recommend Lyndon Rhunke if you have to face bankruptcy. It was the most difficult decision we have ever had to come to. He explained the process step by step, kept us calm and sympathized with us. He helped us make some painful decisions that down the road were to our benefit. He is genuine and we feel he really cares. He wants what is best for you and your situation. When ever we had a question he got right back to us and was so helpful. We could not have survived this with out him! Thank you Lyndon for EVERYTHING!!!

Why The Services Of A Bankruptcy Attorney Vancouver WA May Be Critical

Severe financial difficulties are ranked as one of the biggest stressors in this modern world. Many businesses and individuals that fall foul of international trends over which they have no control feel helpless. When financial disaster strikes, it is best to obtain professional help as quickly as possible. A bankruptcy attorney Vancouver WA may even be able to help avert total disaster by steering clients towards solutions that avoid insolvency.

One of the biggest mistakes made by individuals and businesses that experience severe financial problems is to think that insolvency will solve all their problems and allow them to continue unmolested. This is most certainly not the case. The entire process takes time and the courts are scrupulous in investigating all the circumstances that lead to the application. Investigations can be humiliating and time consuming.

Once the court approves an application, the process put in motion is strict and severe. A trustee is normally appointed and this trustee is able to make wide ranging decisions regarding the assets of the applicant. In most cases, these will be seized and sold on public auction. The proceeds are distributed among the creditors. Even then, applicants may still remain with some financial responsibilities. Child support orders, for example, must be honored, along with other personal responsibilities.

When a business enterprise makes an application for insolvency, the trustee has several options. In some cases it is deemed in the best interest of all parties to allow the business to keep trading. In such cases, all income generated will be controlled by the trustee or the administrator that reports to him. It may also be decided to sell the business as a going concern, or to strip the assets for the purpose of sale on an open auction.

In the past many people used the insolvency laws to rid themselves of creditors and even to commit deliberate fraud by entering into contracts without the slightest intention of honoring them. These days the courts are much stricter and several tests are administered to ensure that the applicant truly has no means of honoring his obligations. Applications will only be entertained when no other remedy can be found.

The laws and the courts expect applicants to give their full cooperation in all matters pertaining to the matter. Documents and records will be required and explanations may be necessary. Applicants are required to be one hundred percent honest and a transgression or any form of dishonesty can be punished and brought to trial. It is best to follow the advice received from the lawyer to the letter.

Trying to make an application for insolvency without the help of a legal expert is an act of extreme folly. The complexity of the relevant laws and the serious nature of the matter demand that applicants should seek professional help. A lawyer can do much to steer the process in such a direction that the final ignominy of insolvency can even n be avoided.

There can be little doubt that the services of a bankruptcy attorney Vancouver WA is the wisest decision that can be made by those individuals and businesses that simply do not know how to proceed with their own financial affairs. In all cases it is best to obtain legal advice as soon as possible.

Why The Services Of A Bankruptcy Attorney Vancouver WA Is Necessary

By: Tracy Narvaez

Severe financial difficulties are ranked as one of the biggest stressors in this modern world. Many businesses and individuals that fall foul of international trends over which they have no control feel helpless. When financial disaster strikes, it is best to obtain professional help as quickly as possible. A bankruptcy attorney Vancouver WA may even be able to help avert total disaster by steering clients towards solutions that avoid insolvency.

When individuals have no other recourse they often think that an application for insolvency will solve their problems and help them to start with a clean slate. This is definitely not the case. The procedures are lengthy and complex. The courts need to determine that the applicant is not simply trying to avoid his financial responsibilities and that he has no immediate prospects of fulfilling his obligations.

Once the courts grant an application, several things happen very quickly. In the case of businesses, all trading ceases immediately and the employees are retrenched. Assets of both individuals and businesses are seized and preserved for sale. The court will appoint a trustee, whose task it is to see that the entire matter is brought to a conclusion as soon as possible.

Applications by businesspeople may have far reaching effects for many others. Employees are likely to lose their jobs and creditors will have to wait for their money. The trustee normally cause the business to stop trading immediately, but a different decision may be made if it is in the interest of the creditors. In all events, any moneys earned will be administered by the court.

Courts have to act to protect those that stand to lose when insolvency is granted. For this reason detailed studies of the finances of the applicant is made. A common means test is applied to ascertain whether the applicant will not perhaps be able to pay his debts, even if under supervision of the court and by means of newly defined contracts with creditors.

It would be extremely unwise to attempt this route without the help of a professional lawyer with extensive experience in this branch of the law. In many cases it is possible to seek alternatives to insolvency, but only if those in trouble confide in their legal representatives. There are alternatives, such as an administration order, that is advantageous to all parties concerned.

Those experiencing financial problems beyond their control should waste no time in obtaining the services of a bankruptcy attorney Vancouver WA. The stress inherent to such circumstances often drives people to make the wrong decision and to cause themselves even more harm.

The United States Bankruptcy Court for he Western District of Washington has recently released new statistics for bankruptcy cases filed in 2011, along with a comparison of filing statistics for 2010. A review of the records reveal that the Vancouver, Washington bankruptcy court has generally decreased slightly with approximately two hundred to four hundred filings per month. The filings are primarily for residents of Clark County, which includes Vancouver, Washington, but includes a smaller number of filings from Cowlitz, Pacific, Skamania, and Wahkiakum counties. These statistics can be downloaded from the website of the Western District of Washington Bankruptcy Court.

The most significant monthly drop came in April of 2011, which saw a twenty-one percent drop in filings from Clark County, down from 266 to 210. Similarly, February 2011 saw a decline of over eleven percent from 234 to 207 cases filed. Likewise, there was a trend of approximately sixteen percent less filings in May and June of 2011, down from 234 to 196 in May 2011, and down from 280 to 233 in June 2011. This is consistent with signs earlier in the year that the economy was improving in terms of job growth, home sales, and other economic indicators.

By contrast, a contrast, a review of similar statistics from 2010 show that Clark County showed a consistent increase in Vancouver, WA bankruptcy filings through the first six months of 2010, relative to filings in 2009. There was slight decrease in the number of filings in the Vancouver, Washington Bankruptcy Court for July, August and October, relative to the same months in 2009.

However, early signs of more robust recover have been replaced by worrying indicators of at least slowed growth, if not the looming spectre of a double dip recession. The question remains whether and how anemic job creation, and falling housing markets will affect the filings for the rest of the year. Even in a period of economic recovery for firms and the financial sector, those living paycheck to paycheck and on the economic margin are all the more vulnerable to job loss, furloughs and other income disruptions.

With firms and employers downsizing, moving overseas and freezing pay, there is reason to believe that new bankruptcy filings will increase throughout the next year. Similarly, budget debates in various state legislatures across the country have jeopardized financial security of public employees. Finally, worries about the impending debt and budget debates at the federal level inject additional uncertainty about the financial future of those at the lowest rung of the economic ladder and those most susceptible to economic disruption.
